GUYANA -JAMAICA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION (new York), Inc.

Our Mission

The Guyana-Jamaica Friendship Association New York Inc was formed in January 2014 with the goal of fostering friendly relationships between the two Caricom countries. Our main focus was in helping in the health and education sectors, particularly in underserved areas in the two target countries. We identified six main purposes. To provide financial and other material assistance to institutions involved in primary school education in less affluent areas in Jamaica and Guyana.

  1. To provide medical assistance to individuals who reside in less affluent areas in Jamaica and Guyana.
  2. To partner with other non-profit organizations, in the Tri-State area and elsewhere involved in assisting Jamaicans and Guyanese in their respective countries.
  3. To provide material assistance and guidance to Jamaican and Guyanese students in the USA.
  4. To encourage travel to Jamaica and Guyana by residents of the Tri-State area and beyond.
  5. To support cultural and sporting exchanges between Guyanese and Jamaicans.

The Guyana Jamaica Friendship Association New York Inc (GJFA) was formed in January 2014 when it had its first meeting and ratified its Constitution.
